Let’s take things back to basics and focus on a classic favorite – cake!

Vanilla Cake 

You can never go wrong with vanilla!


  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 3/4 cups cake flour
  • 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup butter (unsalted)
  • 1 cup whole milk vanilla cake

In a large bowl, beat together the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time and then beat in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt in a separate bowl. Slowly add this to the butter mixture, alternating the milk as well. Grease 2 9-inch round cake pans and evenly distribute the batter into the pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees. After baking, cool and ice with your favorite frosting!

Chocolate Cake 

A perfect, made-from-scratch recipe!


  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water  chocolate cake

In a large mixing bowl, mix together the sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add the eggs, oil, milk and vanilla. Beat this until well combined and then add the boiling water. Pour the batter into 2 9-inch greased round cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before frosting!

Banana Cake 

A delicious spin on regular banana bread, this banana cake is sure to satisfy!


  • 1 1/3 cup bananas
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon lemon
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 3/4 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 1/2 cup milk banana cake.jpg

To begin, put 1 1/2 tablespoons of the lemon juice and the milk in a measuring cup and set aside. In a separate bowl, mix together the mixed bananas and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and set that aside as well. Next, beat together the butter, brown and white sugar until well combined. Add in the eggs one at a time and the vanilla. Beat all of this together until a frosting texture appears. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl. Alternate adding the flour mixture and the egg mixture to this bowl, but do not over overmix. Fold in the bananas and pour the batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for between 60 and 70 minutes. As the cake is baking, make the frosting! Cream together the butter and cream cheese until it’s fluffy. Add a little powdered sugar as you stir and until you get your desired consistency. Spread this on the cooled cake. Enjoy!
